Outfit #1: For Taylor’s work outfit, I have a chosen to design her in a flannel button down shirt, oxford shoes, and capri pants. This look is simple and elegant, as well as comfortable to work in at the studio or at a photo-shoot. Her make-up will be a natural look with pale foundation, but she will be wearing her signature red lipstick and a cute round hat. Taylor is seen wearing flannel and plaid shirts a lot, which is why I chose it for her work outfit. Flannel shirts became very popular among men and women in the 1990s and are still worn a lot today. Capri pants are one of Taylor's go-to clothing items and look great with a pair of oxford shoes. Capris are an historical garment from the 1950s and became the "pants for women" after the war. The oxford shoes in this outfit resemble the 1900s oxford's worn during the Edwardian Era by students at Oxford University. These low laced shoes are worn by Taylor all the time and seem very easy to walk in, which is perfect for a long day at work. The round hat chosen is inspired by the bowler hat during the Romantic Period, which was worn by men and had a round crown with a narrow brim. The red lipstick is inspired by many historical time periods, especially by women in the 1920s who loved to wear it with their flapper dresses.
Outfit #2: For Taylor’s formal meeting outfit, I have designed her in a two-piece suit with a narrow skirt and tight fitted blazer. This look is very sophisticated, as well as fashionable. The two-piece suit is inspired by the 1940s ‘A’ line, which is a man’s suit transformed into a feminine one. The suit became very popular after the war with the skirts A-line shape and the hemline hitting around the knee. She will also be wearing black platform sandals and natural make-up, inspired by the style of the 1970s. For the accessories, she will wear a colorful cross body bag, which became very popularly worn by women in the 1990s and still worn a lot today in bright colors.
Outfit #3: For Taylor's formal evening outfit, I designed her in a 1940s inspired wiggle dress. The dress will have a high neckline and embellished in silver sequins. It will be narrow at the hips and tight fitted with a hem below the knee. I paired the dress up with a black pair of t-strapped heels and a black clutch. For the accessories, she will wear big earrings with silver diamonds that resemble drop earrings worn by women in the Crinoline Era and have her hair in an up-do resembling the faux bob in the 1920s to show off her beautiful earrings.
Outfit #4: For Taylor's fun outfit, I designed her in a three-quartered sleeved light blue romper with yellow polka-dots, summery flats, and big sunglasses. She will be wearing smoky eye shadow, nude lipstick, pale foundation, and her hair will be in pig tails. This style is a mixture of historical garments from the 1930s, 1950s, and 1960s. The romper I chose is inspired by the 1930s playsuit, which is a one piece suit that was worn by women at the beach. Rompers have become a very popular clothing item and are worn all the time today. The summery flats, big sunglasses, and make-up I chose was inspired by shoes and sunglasses worn in the 1960s. Women began to wear flat shoes that covered their toes and large round sunglasses. Taylor's pig tails are inspired by Twiggy who was a fashion icon in the 1960s and still is today. She was seen all the time wearing pig tails looking very cute.
Outfit #5: For Taylor's last outfit, I chose to put her in clothes for a night out on the town. I designed her in a white crop top, a flared sequined mini skirt, and platform heels. The crop top resembles the 1970s tube top that was cheap and consisted of very little fabric. Taylor is seen all the time wearing crop tops and showing her flat stomach. Platform wedges were also very popular during the 1970s. I chose the sequined mini skirt, which became popular in the 1960s and the sequins because Taylor still loves to wear sparkly things. For her accessories, Taylor will wear a long beaded necklace that will be wrapped around her neck to make a choker. The choker was very popular during the 18th century and have recently become very popular again this year. The choker really emphasizes one's posture and neckline.
